Sustainable Marketing Framework - AMA ICC 2023-2024 Case Competition
As a key member of a team of four, I contributed to creating a Sustainable Marketing Framework that earned 3rd place out of over 50 teams at the American Marketing Association’s 2023-2024 International Collegiate Conference (ICC) Case Competition. We developed the innovative framework through a detailed written case study in the fall, and then transformed it into a scripted presentation for delivery in New Orleans in front of a panel of judges. My role involved assisting in the development of the framework, integrating sustainability into marketing strategies, and conducting primary research, including surveys and interviews, which uncovered a significant knowledge gap in sustainable marketing practices. This crucial insight helped shape our Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) plan. We devised strategies to address the identified gap through effective collaboration, demonstrating our capability to deliver impactful solutions in a highly competitive environment. Additionally, we achieved 2nd place out of 32 teams in the inaugural Design Lab Marketing Challenge at ICC, creating a key infographic for small businesses, now featured in the Downtown Development District’s welcome packet.

Bussiness Communications Coursework
Email Activity: As part of my coursework for the Business Communication course, I was assigned to revise an email that my manager intended to send to all employees. I provided suggested edits in the first document, while the second contains my revised email version. The final document is my response to my manager's request.
This assignment taught me the importance of clear and effective communication in a professional setting. By critically evaluating the original message and considering the audience's perspective, I enhanced the email’s clarity and tone. This experience strengthened my editing skills and highlighted the value of constructive feedback in fostering collaboration within a team.
Data Tracking Activity:
In this budget tracking assignment for September 2024, I applied the data communication process through four stages to gain insights into my spending patterns. First, during the data collection stage, I recorded my monthly expenses across three categories: academic, living, and personal. I tracked each expenditure—such as tuition, rent, groceries, and transportation—either paid by my parents or myself.
Next, in the formatting stage, I organized the data into clear tables with columns for each expense, showing the budgeted versus actual spending amounts. I included a notes section to clarify specific expenditures, like Spotify under entertainment, clothing purchases from American Eagle, Aerie, and Old Navy, and car-related expenses like tolls and oil changes.
In the visualization stage, I created bar charts to represent budgeted versus actual spending across categories, allowing for quick comparisons. Separate bar charts for my and my parents' budgets illustrated our contributions and spending habits. For instance, the "Taylor’s Monthly Budget" chart shows my personal spending in categories like savings, transportation, and groceries, while "Parent's Monthly Budget for Taylor" visualizes my parents' contributions to rent, utilities, and tuition.
Finally, in the insights stage, I evaluated how closely my actual spending aligned with my budget. I found that I used 93% of my parents' budget and 96% of my personal budget, staying mostly within limits. However, I noted overspending in categories like clothing, where I spent $82.60 against a $50 budget, and groceries, where I spent $212.76 against a $250 budget, leaving little room for adjustment. These insights showed me which areas require more careful tracking or budget adjustments to avoid overspending in the future. This process has given me a clear view of my spending habits and helped me make informed budgeting decisions moving forward.
